Medela Symphony Breast Pump Program

The Lactation Committee is eternally grateful to the Pitt County Department of Health for their contribution to lactation support providing nine (9) Medela Symphony Breast Pumps to support lactating employees returning to work after the birth of their child.

Five (5) of these pumps are placed across campus in the following locations.

The remaining pumps are available to eligible employees through the Employee Breast Pump Loan Program coordinated by HR.

Procedure for temporary usage

Users intending to use the pumps provided in designated lactation rooms will need to check in with a designated keyholder to obtain the pump cabinet key. Prior to obtaining the key, users will be required to sign the required temporary assignment paperwork. ECU employees and students will need to bring their Banner IDs, campus guests will be to show a picture ID. Returning users to the same keyholder location, can use the same temporary assignment form up to 30 times, this will streamline access for each use. Users returning to the same lactation room, but to a different keyholder will need to complete a new form.
