Associate Professor, Department of HistoryDr. Russell’s research interest focus upon gender and consumerism in the 19th and 20th century Egypt. In addition to her monograph Creating the New Egyptian Woman (Palgrave, 2004), a survey of Egyptian history, various encyclopedia entries and a translation, she has published recent articles in Journal of Middle East Women’s Studies and Journal of World History (2021).
