Anna Froula, PhD, Associate Professor of Film Studies in the Department of English in the Thomas Harriot College of Arts and Sciences created and directs ECU’s Veteran to Scholar Boot Camp. Dr. Froula’s current research interests include supporting veterans, especially student veterans, American war films, and zombie culture. She has published widely on war and gender, including in Journal of War and Culture Studies, Jump Cut: A Review of Contemporary Media, and the Journal of Media and Culture Studies. Dr. Froula has co-edited Reframing 9/11: Film, Popular Culture, and the “War on Terror” as well as American Militarism on the Small Screen and has received multiple grants from the National Endowment for the Humanities’ Dialogues on the Experience of War Initiative to support her work with veterans.
