Abby Schwartz, MGS, MSW, PhD is an Associate Professor in the School of Social Work. She also serves as the Director of the BSW Program and Coordinator of the Gerontology Program (minor and certificate). Dr. Schwartz’s current research interests include increasing access to healthcare and improving the health and well-being of disadvantaged rural adults through transportation programs as well as the development of community-based supports for vulnerable caregivers of older adults. Dr. Schwartz has published in journals such as Journal of Women & Aging, Journal of Applied Gerontology, Gerontology & Geriatrics Education, and Journal of Family Social Work.
